Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Glove

The Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Glove was on my wishlist for a really long time, and the truth is: I left it on my wishlist for long because I felt the price was steep, and I asked myself, "Is it worth it"? For a while I used The Brush Egg  ( see review HERE) to wash my brushes but I realized I could get better result with something more effective. I finally got the Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Glove and today I've decided to share my thoughts with this review.

At first glance , you could take the sigma spa brush cleaning glove as a glorified silicone oven glove. Considering I have well over 60 makeup  brushes, I couldn't wait to give it a try in the hope of saving time and hassle.
The Sigma Glove was specially designed as a quick, easy and effective way to deep clean your makeup brushes. This silicone glove has a total of 6 unique cleaning textures for optimal cleaning. One side of the glove is for face brushes, and the other side is for eye brushes. Each side has 3 cleaning textures; wash texture, rinse texture and refine texture.

The face side of the glove has a domed texture, whereas the eye side has a more gentle criss cross pattern.

The Sigma Glove comes with a soft cloth, just like a towel also shaped as a glove, and this is inserted the silicone glove.

How I wash my brushes with The Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Glove

I use liquid black soap to wash my brushes, you can also use brush cleanser or brush shampoo, which ever you prefer.

First, I dip the dirty brush into the liquid soap, then I wet the glove and I begin washing. You will notice the foam change from brown to white , then you would know the brush is clean and all traces of makeup are gone. Next , I rinse the brush on the side of the glove written "rinse", till all the soap and foam is off the brush.  The refine texture which is for additional cleaning, and it's totally optional.

After running the bristles under running water again for a final rinse, I squeeze out any excess water by placing the brush head between my thumb and index finger.

My Thoughts:

The Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Glove does a wonderful job at cleaning my brushes. What makes this glove such a well- designed and made product is the fact that it feels very comfortable to wear. Because silicone traps heat and will feel uncomfortable on the skin, the nice people at Sigma inserted the soft and fluffy towel layer to pamper and protect the hand. In comparison with the brush egg or using your hands to wash your brushes, the Sigma Glove saves you the stress of too much water and soap on your hands and nails, therefore you won't experience all that wrinkle and sore feeling.

Like I said earlier, it took me a long time to purchase this product because of the price. I know it feels like a lot of money to spend on a brush cleaner, but then again it's Sigma...one of the most reputable brands of makeup brushes and they know their stuff. This glove is so gentle and convenient and would  help your brushes last longer.  Some makeup brushes have an extortionate price tag, and definitely you would want to keep them looking and performing at their best, right? I know I do. Some MAC single brushes are the same price as this glove.... hello 150 and 187.  Personally, it's worth the price, money well spent and feels reasonable for something that will look after my beloved makeup brushes.

This is truly a very good buy and I would recommend it to anyone who loves to their brushes, whether you are a makeup artist or just a makeup user.

  3. I just use my hands and brush shampoo.

I don't have that many brushes, so no need for extra gadgets.
