Beauty Hoarder????

Hi, my name is Doyin and I think I may be a beauty hoarder!

Just the other day, I was going through my new makeup stash, wondering where I would fit them into, then I realized I still had a few items in my box I had to get rid of first. It is so ironic because some of the things I still hold on to, I don't even use them anymore while others are finished, but I've just refused to discard them.

In today's post I will show you a few products I have used, but still have it lying around as well as products I still use for one reason or the other.

Let's start....

1. Sleek Come Clean Gentle Cleansing Foam

Please can someone ask me why I have an empty container of this cleanser? Seriously, this is crazy, I have 2 extras, one of which I am using presently and one as backup! The Sleek come clean gentle cleansing foam is the best makeup remover I have ever used, yes I know!!!  Maybe that is why I have refused to throw away an empty one. I promise I will discard this after typing this post.

2.  Mac MatchMaster Foundation

When I bought this foundation, i didn't need it, but we got to the Mac store and somehow I just wanted to try a new foundation, so I got this. I wasn't totally in love with it though, but I made sure I used it till it couldn't dispense any more product.  After this bottle, I never repurchased, and I don't think I ever will. The only reason I still have it is because I am storing it for re-cycling.

3. Mac Select MoistureCover Concealer

This is one concealer I love for highlighting under my eyes and I have actually replaced it a couple of times. Just like the Mac Matchmaster Foundation, I still keep it for re-cycling purposes.

4.   Mac Studio Finish Concealer

This is very very laughable, I know this looks funny but believe me when I say, I have 4 empty containers of the mac studio finish concealer. When I mean empty, I mean down to the last scoop. My friend Linda introduced me to this concealer, my goodness it gives maximum coverage. This concealer can be used alone, even without foundation. It is amazing. I use nc50 to cover spots and nc45 0r nc42 to highlight my browbone.  Still storing it for re-cycling.

5.  Ralph Lauren Perfume ( Ralph)

I am not much of a perfume person, I don't collect perfumes, and all I have at this moment in time is 4. Out of 4, 2 are gifted. Please forgive me if I spray what I have to the last drop, I know I will. * big grin*

I have a favourite perfume though... Hugo Boss- Deep Red, that is the only perfume I have ever repurchased time and time again. As for Ralph, nope,  I won't repurchase, not because I didn't like it, but because I would rather try something new.

6. NYX Jumbo Pencil (Milk)

Ok, so there was this debate about NYX Jumbo pencil in a previous post. Something about sharpening it, to reveal more product and someone else saying she would use the back of her tiny comb to scoop out the product.  When my finger couldn't reach inside to scoop out some product I stopped using it. I still have an extra NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk, so this too would be tossed away.

7.  Maybelline Baby Lips ( Berry Bomb)

I don't go anywhere without my baby lips, it always comes in handy. This is the very first Maybelline Baby Lips I ever bought and I love it. I bought 2 more last year and also received 8 from Maybelline Nigeria. I gave out about 6, and I know I have nothing less than 3 left, so why do I feel the urge to drain out this one completely?

8.  Mac Lipstick (Hug me)

My baby cousin Ayomide made me buy this lipstick. This lipstick right here is almost 2 years old, the very first nude lipstick I ever bought. I don't use it anymore, I don't even reach for it because I have a dozen more nude lipsticks. It is just in my collection doing nothing but taking up space. I'll add it to the rest of my mac empties for re-cycling.

Now, I would take my time to go through my collection and decide what is staying and what is not. Time to clean out my closet. I'll be right back people....

So who else tends to hoard beauty products and how often do you go through your stash? Please share with us...

Have a fantastic weekend everyone, and I hope to see you at the Easter Beauty A' Fair on Sunday....

xoxo

  1. Over guilty is worrying me...... my very first blackup foundation is still in my makeup bag. Maybe it's the cost, I just feel I have not finished my money. Presently I av employed d services of cottonbud to reach inside d bottle and scoop out whatever foundation is left there. It has to finish on my own terms......

  2. I thought I was the only one who did this. Last week I got the new Nars Luminous foundation. I unwrapped and dumped the box in a bag in my room. Then I realised I had boxes of foundations from Chanel, Mac, Dior, Makeup Forever, Giorgio Armani and Lancome some of which I used over 2 years ago. I was so ashamed! I make fun of others hoarding stuff and didn't realise I was doing the same.

  4. LOOL. I know this comment is late but you shouldn't throw away your Jumbo pencil.
    Buy a large sharpener.
    Freeze your Jumbo pencil.
When it is hard, Sharpen it.
Or buy the nyx white base that comes in a small pot.
