Happy Hair-nniversary to me.....

Yippeeee....

It's exactly one year since my big chop and I must say the journey so far has been amazing. Through out the past year, never for once did I regret cutting my hair and I never missed the chemicals that damaged my hair in the first place.

I love my natural so much, sometimes I even wonder why I ever applied relaxer in the first place. I've got a very soft texture so perhaps I may be lucky.  I am not exactly sure what my hair type is, but I know my curls are defined but not tight. Earlier in my journey, it was so overwhelming for me mainly because I was hearing a lot of terms used by the natural hair community.  I tried not to get carried away, instead I focused on my own hair.  I also learnt over this year that one product that works for one person may not work for me and vice versa. I was once a product junkie, but now I have narrowed my hair products to 6 items.

Different naturalistas have different goals for their hair. Whether it's healthier hair or longer hair, the bottom line is to love your hair.  There is so much to know, but I am taking it one day at a time.

Like I said in a previous post, this year I would experiment more with protective styles, so let's see how it goes.

Who else is on a natural hair journey? What are your challenges? How is the journey so far?

Please share your experiences....

Till my next post, do stay beautiful.

xoxo

  2. I love your hair. I transitioned during the second half of last yr and did the big chop on 30th of Dec. I always prefer protective styles because mt hair texture is coarse. Am still contemplating on what products to buy and what not to esp shampoo and conditioner. I normally use black soap in place of shampoo.
